It’s been an unusually calm winter so far in Anchorage, AK, with less than 4 inches of snow so far compared to the average 17” expected at this point. Not to worry, however, as a good sized snowstorm is coming into the area tonight through Saturday and is expected to dump a decent amount of dry, fluffy snow. The bulk of the accumulation will be in the Hillside area with 6-10” though East Anchorage and Eagle River are expecting 4-6” each. The Midtown area looks a bit better with 3-5”.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for the area starting today at 4pm until Saturday 6am so please, be careful. We know that Anchorage residents are no strangers to snowy weather but if you can avoid driving much or going outside, we encourage you to do so. If you do need to get out, you can always order Plowz.
