Finally, the first significant snow event of the season is set to hit the Greater Boston Area this weekend. There’s a Winter Weather Advisory for all areas outside of Rt. 128 for Saturday. The Worcester Hills area will receive the bulk of the snow with 5-9”, though the Fitchburg and North Shore areas will be affected as well with 4-7” and 3-5” respectively. Metro Boston won’t be as bad with 2-4 inches, though that still might complicate travel. The South Shore area is only expecting about 1-3” for this storm and that will likely turn to rain by Saturday night or Sunday morning.
