How many acres is a football field?

A standard American football field is 300 feet long by 160 feet wide, not including the 30-yard end zones. By this measurement, a football field is 1.32 acres of mowable grass.Typically these fields will have at least 20 feet of a border to accommodate benches and spectator areas, most likely much more. With a 20-foot border surrounding the field, this would increase the grass space to be mowed to a total of 1.84 acres.

When ordering, if you want just the field mowed, select our 1.25-1.50 acre option. For a standard border of 20-feet, select the 1.75-2.00 acre option. If the border around your football field is larger, add a quarter-acre for every additional space of 104ft by 104ft or use Google maps to measure the length and width to get the total square footage to convert to acres (10,890 sq ft is a quarter of an acre, a full acre is 43,560 sq ft).
