Deputy Kotfila Memorial Dog Park has lots of room for dogs of all sizes to romp and separated areas for small and large dogs. The park features canine turf, water fountains with built-in pet bowls, and large bench-style seating, all under the Selmon Expressway shade. The dog park is open daily from dawn until dusk.

 

2. Logan Gate Dog Park

Logan Gate Dog Park is a dedicated dog facility in Tampa, Florida. Centrally located in the upscale Citrus Park neighborhood, Logan Gate Dog Park offers two fenced play spaces where dogs can enjoy romping, running, and roughhousing with their best canine pals all without the encumbrance of a lead. It is also important to note that any dogs engaging in excessive barking or mounting behaviors will be asked to vacate the premises.

 

3. Northwest County Dog Park

The Northwest County Dog Park is a large grassy dog park located in Tampa. This dog park is fenced, and that fence also denotes two separate sections, one for large canines and another for small canines, puppies, and toy breeds. This helps keep them safe as they are not playing with canines many times their size. This park has several amenities, above and beyond what you would typically find at a neighborhood dog park such as agility equipment throughout for canines that enjoy obstacles and the like. The Northwest County Dog Park has water access and large tubs for your canine to play and splash around. Few trees can be found at this dog park, some around the fence line but just a few are inside the park. Tons of parking is available here at no cost. There is ample seating in the form of benches inside the entrance and place periodically along the fence line of the dog park. Poop bags and garbage cans are available inside the entrance to both sides of the dog park. There is plenty of space at the Northwest County Dog Park to play some long-range games like fetch or frisbee. Even without interaction, the agility equipment is likely to keep even the most energetic canine running and having fun.

 

4. West Park Dog Park

Hillsborough counties first dog park. It is conveniently located in the western part of the county near Tampa International Airport. The play area features 5 acres with a 6 foot galvanized chain link fence with double gated entries. The area is split into two separate access areas for small and large dogs. Also, there are water fountains for people and dogs, picnic tables, shelters, dog washes, a hitching post, and doggie mitt receptacles. The park has many shade trees, an adjacent children’s playground, and baseball fields. This is a great destination for the entire family to enjoy time outside with their favorite pooch.

 

5. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park

The Curtis Hixon Waterfront Dog Park is located in Tampa, Florida. Visitors to this beautiful park space praise its central location in the downtown Tampa core. This dedicated dog facility offers two fully fenced areas suitable for off-leash play. Owners are required to carefully monitor all playtime and to keep a leash with them.
Florida state law requires that all dogs must be leashed when not in a designated off-leash zone. The dog runs are well-stocked with many different amenities. Housed within the runs is a dog fountain that provides fresh drinking water for all dogs to enjoy. Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is also home to many great recreational opportunities sure to appeal to every member of the family.

 

6. Lettuce Lake Park

Lettuce Lake Park is a 240-acre Hillsborough County-run park just outside the city limits of Tampa, Florida. It is located on Fletcher Avenue between Interstate 75 and the University of South Florida. The 240-acre site has wooded picnic areas, playgrounds, bicycle and jogging trails, and a fitness course. The park also has a 3,500 ft boardwalk and an observation tower. The admission fee is $2, and dogs must be kept on a leash. The Hillsborough River runs through it. Lettuce Lake Park features several boardwalks that wind through various Florida ecosystems; a freshwater wetland and flood plain, an oak-dominated hardwood forest, cypress domes, and the Hillsborough River. The park also contains a visitor’s center, an observation tower, nature trails, picnic tables, barbecue pits, restrooms, an open playfield, and a playground.

 

7. Palma Ceia Dog Park

Palma Ceia Dog Park is a fenced 1-acre dog park with a double-gated entry, disposal bags, trash cans, benches, tables, and shade trees. Bring your dog to play off-leash at the fenced dog run in Palma Ceia Park. Includes drinking water and nice shade trees, though parking is limited. There is a double-gated entry area, benches, water, and pick up bags are available.

 

8. New Tampa Rotary Dog Park

New Tampa Rotary Dog Park is an enclosed, leash-free area where Fido and friends can play. It features benches and water fountains for people and pets. The Park warns dog owners to keep their eyes open for snakes and requests that they clean up after their pet, and keep them leashed until inside the park. No more than two dogs are allowed with an owner at a time. Dogs must wear county license tags during their visit. Dogs that have been deemed aggressive by the Hillsborough County Animal Services are prohibited. The New Tampa Rotary Dog Park is open from sunrise to sunset.

 

9. Al Lopez Dog Park

Al López Field was a spring training and Minor League baseball ballpark in West Tampa, Tampa, Florida, United States. It was named for Al López, the first Tampa native to play Major League Baseball, manage an MLB team, and be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Al López became the White Sox’s manager in 1957, and for the next three springs, he was the home manager in a ballpark named after himself. Al López Field was built in 1954 and hosted its first spring training in 1955 when the Chicago White Sox moved their training site to Tampa from California. Al López Field site was widely regarded as the best location for a new major league ballpark if Tampa gained a team. The Tarpons moved to Sarasota, Florida, leaving Al López Field without a tenant a year later.

 

10. Hilltop Dog Park

Located at 9240 Harney Road, the park is open daily, sunrise to sunset, except for Mondays, from 6 am to 2 pm for maintenance. Park users and dog owners assume all risks related to dog park usage. Owners are responsible and liable for their dogs and children. Owners must clean up after their dog(s) and dispose of waste properly. Dog handlers must be 16 years of age or older. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult while inside the off-leash areas. Children must be 6 years of age or older to be in off-leash areas. No animals other than dogs may be brought into the park. All dogs in the park must wear a collar, ID tag, and a current rabies tag. Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior must be removed from the park immediately. No dogs in heat are allowed.
