Each winter as temperatures begin to drop, outdoor activities can become limited. Outside of the major outdoor winter activities like skiing and snowboarding, there are many things to do to keep you busy during the cold winter months. Check out our list below!
1. Skiing
Even if there is no snow in your area, ski locations have you covered! Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting out, a day on the slopes will be fun!
2. Snowboarding
Just like skiing, snowboarding is a perfect winter activity. The slopes are waiting for you!
3. Snow Tubing
If skiing or snowboarding is not for you, snow tubing is a perfect alternative. Head to the top of a snow hill and jump in an inflatable inner tube for a fun ride down the hill!
4. Snow Shoeing
Snow Shoeing is a fun, easy, and cheap outdoor winter activity. If the conditions on the ski hill aren’t good, snow shoeing can be just as enjoyable. Find a snowy woodland trail and get out and enjoy nature.
5. Go Ice Skating
Ice skating is the perfect activity for you and your family this year. It’s an excuse to get outside, have fun, and get some exercise!
6. Go sledding
Bundle up and find yourself any kind of hill to sled down. If you don’t have the typical sled, you can make do with what you do have. Trash can lid, boogie board, air mattress, or yoga mat.. anything can be a sled if you want it to be!
7. Take up knitting
Knitting is the perfect way to get crafty while sitting at home. You can create different styles and items for yourself and others. Making for the perfect holiday presents!
8. Build a Snowman
Do you want to build a snowman??…Playing in the snow can be fun but building a snowman can be even more fun! Make a competition of it and see who can build the best snowman.
9. Bake cookies
Made from scratch or just from pop them in the oven, baking cookies can bring joy to any household.
10. Have a winter bonfire
Marshmallows, check. Graham crackers, check. Chocolate bars, check. Once you have all the necessary ingredients, get outside, get the fire going, and start roasting marshmallows.
11. Ice Fishing
If you miss the warm weather and catching fish, ice fishing is just for you! Bring your tackle box, bundle up, and get out there and catch some fish.

With all the time being spent at home, time in the kitchen should be well spent. Learning a new recipe can get your creative mind going and feed you and your family at the same time.
